Chim-Chimney!!!

We’ve started on the historic rebuild of the west chimney! This large chimney has three separate flues, which haven’t been used for decades. We pulled 15 foot of soot, dirt, bricks, and trash from these chimneys! “It was a sooty job!” as my dad says!

We’ll be making use of all three flues - one for our masonry cookstove, one for a masonry oven, and the third for a small masonry heater. More on these super-efficient, clean-burning wood heaters later!
